About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic Assistant to join our team at Specialty Pump & Power Inc. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our heavy equipment fleet.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Tradespersons and Apprentices: Provide support to our tradespersons and apprentices in performing maintenance and repair tasks on heavy equipment.
  • Signal Safety Procedures: Signal safety procedures to other workers and the general public to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Clean Machines and Work Areas: Clean and maintain machines and immediate work areas to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Move Equipment and Materials: Move tools, equipment, and other materials as required to support maintenance and repair tasks.
Work Environment

As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic Assistant, you will work in a fast-paced outdoor environment with varying weather conditions. You will be required to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in noisy and dusty conditions.

Requirements
  • Physical Demands: The role requires a high level of physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy loads (up to 23 kg/50 lbs).
  • Manual Dexterity: You will need to have good manual dexterity and be able to perform tasks that require fine motor skills.
  • Combination of Sitting, Standing, and Walking: You will be required to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, as well as perform tasks that require bending, crouching, and kneeling.
