The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Foreperson to join our team at the Hemlo Operations near Marathon, Ontario. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a targeted electrification project, establishing world-class operating practices on a large electrical and fibre system.

This is a 14-shifts-on/14-shifts-off role, with drive-in/drive-out accommodation available if you reside outside the Hemlo Operations area. Shifts are continuous day shifts, providing a stable and predictable work schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Comply with all safety and standard operating procedures, ensuring crew members also adhere to these guidelines.
  2. Direct underground electricians and provide daily task guidance, promoting efficient workflow.
  3. Support the mining group to minimize equipment downtime, maintain mine services, and ensure optimal productivity.
  4. Assist in implementing and maintaining underground tele-remoting with scoops, as well as surface tele-remoting operations.
  5. Collaborate with the Maintenance Superintendent to manage costs, identify process improvement opportunities, and optimize operational efficiency.
  6. Work closely with client counterparts on various projects throughout the mine, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
  7. Contribute to electrical reticulation design for operating levels, installing splitter boxes, PTO's, pump starters, and other necessary infrastructure.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • A strong commitment to working safely, ensuring the safety of others, and adhering to industry standards.
  • Ontario Provincial Trade License or Inter-Provincial (Red Seal) certification.
  • At least 5 to 7 years' experience working in an underground mine, with expertise in electrical systems and high-voltage equipment.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a leadership role, demonstrating excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with Canadian and Ontario Provincial Electrical Code, as well as CSA M421-00 codes related to underground mining.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
About Our Offer

We offer a competitive salary of approximately $120,000 per year, based on industry standards and location. Our comprehensive benefits package includes health and medical coverage, travel allowance, meals, and camp accommodations in Marathon, Ontario.
