**Project Manager Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Project Manager to join our team at Dexter Construction Company Limited. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion, and staying within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, execute, and deliver projects on time, within specifications, and with minimal resources.
  • Define project requirements and scope, acquire project resources, and supervise the efforts of project team members.
  • Ensure efficient delivery of project deliverables, effective quality control, and clear communication of expectations to stakeholders and upward reporting to senior management.
  • Develop, maintain, and regularly review up-to-date project progress information, including Critical Path scheduling, Work in Progress Reports, and analysis of all job costs.
  • Work closely with the General Superintendent and on-site superintendent to coordinate the activities of the Foremen and subcontractor work crews as required.
  • Provide on-going support to field personnel to help identify and remove obstacles that impact construction progress, resolve challenges with respective owners, and to identify and implement profit improvement strategies to the job, as needed.
  • Collaborate with owners in modifications resulting in Change orders.
  • Coordinate, price, and process change orders or technical problems with owner requirements, suppliers, superintendents, and subcontractors, and utilizes estimating when required. Resolve change orders with owners timely.
  • Monitor and ensure project profitability by reviewing project job cost reports regularly.
  • Ensure accurate coding of time sheets, all purchase orders, delivery tickets, subcontractor requisitions, and invoices for project costing.
  • Regularly visit project sites for troubleshooting and to ensure project quality.
  • Review and initiate regular project billing.
  • Responsible for the overall safety of all manpower working on the contract, supporting the corporate safety program, and setting a positive example.
  • Develops, chairs, and initiates all job closeout activities, including preparation of as-built drawings, retaining release from subcontractors, ensuring warranty information provided to owner, final payment quantities and payment, and recovery of holdback.
  • Lead by example, promoting a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years' experience managing construction projects. Civil Construction experience is required.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Must be knowledgeable in all aspects of civil construction.
  • Excellent management, delegation, planning, and leadership skills.
  • High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning.
  • Ability to comply with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Able to deal with people tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
