Job Overview:

The City of Richmond is seeking a skilled Civil Infrastructure Project Coordinator to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and administering Utility and Roads Infrastructure Capital projects, ensuring compliance with contracts, plans, specifications, municipal standards, regulations, bylaws, and related requirements.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Inspecting construction projects to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to plans and specifications;
  • Liaising with City staff, consultants, contractors, and the general public to resolve project-related issues;
  • Recording and maintaining daily inspection reports and journals complete with photos and field test reports;
  • Preparing and reviewing progress draws, bond reductions, change orders, force account, and extra work orders;
  • Administering damage deposits and ensuring repairs to City property are made prior to refunds;
  • Monitoring safety and traffic control around construction sites;
  • Operating computerized vibration equipment and geotechnical lab equipment;
  • Performing subdivision inspections to ensure that works have been constructed and completed in accordance with approved plans and specifications;
  • Recording and documenting field changes and review as-built drawing information for accuracy.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering/Engineering Technology or equivalent combination of training and experience;
  • Minimum 2 years of experience performing technical and inspection work;
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence for the Province of British Columbia;
  • Eligibility for Certification by the Applied Science Technologist and Technicians of BC (ASTTBC) as an Applied Science Technologist (AScT);
  • Certification as a Public Works Inspector (CPWI) through the Public Works Inspectors Society is preferred.
