Financial Operations Analyst

Position Overview:
The Financial Operations Analyst will oversee all fiscal and accounting elements related to project management. This position requires collaboration with both project and district management to deliver insightful financial evaluations and analyses. Key responsibilities encompass assessing project expenditures, generating data reports, managing budgets, forecasting financial trends, and ensuring robust internal controls are established. This role may evolve into a project controller position, maintaining similar responsibilities but with a concentrated focus on a designated project.
District Insights:
The Eastern Canada District is engaged in a diverse array of projects, including infrastructure development such as highways, bridges, mass transit systems, mine site enhancements, hydroelectric facilities, wind energy projects, dams, and various industrial undertakings. Operations are primarily situated in the Eastern Canada region.
Work Location:
This position is predominantly based in Oakville, with occasional travel required to downtown Toronto. The ideal candidate should be open to traveling to both locations as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leverage historical and current data for accurate forecasting
- Comprehend business operations to effectively relay financial reports
- Facilitate informed decision-making by pinpointing financial risks and opportunities
- Oversee employee performance and provide mentorship
- Establish internal controls and supervise financial audits
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives within the organization
- Foster trust and positive relationships with the Operations team
- Deliver outstanding customer service
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in finance or business administration
- A diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or a related discipline
- Familiarity with SAP is advantageous
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Exceptional communication and organizational abilities
- Strong work ethic with the capacity to work autonomously or collaboratively
- High degree of professionalism
- Willingness to travel as required
