Farm Laborer

We are seeking a skilled Farm Laborer to join our team at Morning Light Farm Limited. As a Farm Laborer, you will be responsible for planting, cultivating, and irrigating crops, as well as performing general farm duties.

• Plant, Cultivate, and Irrigate Crops: Plant seeds, cultivate crops, and irrigate them as needed to ensure optimal growth and yield.
• Fertilize and Spray Crops: Apply fertilizers and pesticides to crops to promote healthy growth and prevent pests and diseases.
• Harvest Crops: Pick and collect crops at the right time to ensure maximum quality and yield.
• Operate and Maintain Farm Machinery and Equipment: Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment to ensure efficient and safe operation.
• Ensure Farm Safety and Bio-Security Procedures: Follow established safety and bio-security procedures to prevent accidents and ensure the health and well-being of crops and livestock.
• Maintain Quality Control and Production Records: Monitor and record crop quality and production to ensure consistency and quality.
• Supervise and Oversee Growing and Other Crop-Related Operations: Supervise and oversee growing and other crop-related operations to ensure optimal results.
• Detect Disease and Health Problems in Crops, Livestock, and Poultry: Monitor crops, livestock, and poultry for signs of disease or health problems and take corrective action as needed.
• Perform General Farm Duties: Perform general farm duties as assigned to ensure the smooth operation of the farm.
• Examine Product for Quality and Readiness for Market: Examine crops for quality and readiness for market to ensure maximum value.
• Hand Harvest Vegetables: Hand harvest vegetables to ensure maximum quality and yield.
• Divide Fresh Harvested Produce into Marketable Lots and Non-Marketable Lots: Divide fresh harvested produce into marketable and non-marketable lots to ensure efficient and effective distribution.

• Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
• Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
• Work Site Environment: Willing to work in a rural area with exposure to mushrooms.
• Work Setting: Willing to relocate for this position.
• Language: English.
• Hours: 35 hours per week.
