Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team at Nova Chemicals in Joffre, Alberta. As a Machinist, you will be responsible for performing predictive and operational procedures, routine maintenance on machines, and repairing or replacing defective parts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform predictive and operational procedures to ensure optimal machine performance
  • Conduct routine maintenance on machines to prevent downtime and ensure safety
  • Repair or replace defective parts to maintain machine efficiency
  • Document actions by completing production and quality logs
  • Collaborate with a dynamic team to drive quality of end products

Requirements:

  • Journeyperson Machinist Ticket
  • Rigging ticket
  • Valid driver's license with a 3-year driver's abstract
  • Required Safety Tickets: CSTS-2020, Energy Safety Canada Confined Space, Fall Protection, EWP (asset)
  • Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol Test

Working Conditions:

  • Working at heights, in and around noise, dust, indoor and outdoor in hot and cold weather conditions
  • Working in a confined space
  • Personal safety equipment required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be clean-shaven
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50lbs with assistance
  • Stand or walk for long periods of time
  • Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects
