The Kamloops & District Elizabeth Fry Society seeks dedicated caregivers to host youth (ages 12-19+) in a supportive home environment as part of our SKY Full-time Attendance Program (FTAP).

Job Description

As a caregiver, you will provide a safe and nurturing space for the youth, supporting their daily needs and activities. You will also receive ongoing support and training opportunities from the youth's one-to-one Social Support Worker.

About FTAP

Our FTAP is a non-custodial intervention and support service for youth involved in the justice system. Developed over decades as alternatives to custody, FTAPs have contributed significantly to British Columbia achieving the lowest rate of youth incarceration in Canada.

Responsibilities
  • Provide a stable and caring home environment for the youth
  • Support the youth's daily needs and activities
  • Collaborate with the youth's care team to ensure comprehensive support
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A valid Driver's License and access to a vehicle
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Compensation and Benefits

Caregivers are compensated for being available to host youth on notice. This pay is multiplied by two for the duration of the youth's stay. The Kamloops & District Elizabeth Fry Society offers a fair and equitable work environment focused on health, mutual respect, and teamwork.

Salary

$35,000 - $40,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
