Pump Repair and Maintenance Mechanic Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Pump Repair and Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at DXP Enterprises. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of pumps and equipment, ensuring they are in optimal working condition.

Responsibilities:

  • Tear down and inspect pumps and equipment to identify areas for repair or replacement.
  • Repair or replace defective pumps and parts using hand, power, and air-driven tools.
  • Diagnose equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Record maintenance work and costs, and maintain accurate records.
  • Research and locate manufacturer parts lists and repair manuals for various pump models.
  • Explain pump or part failure to customers on repair quotes.
  • Clean, paint, and lubricate pumps and parts.
  • Maintain the overall cleanliness of the repair facility.
  • Ensure proper functionality of the repair shop, tools, and machinery.
  • Perform pressure tests as required.

Qualifications:

  • Some experience working with rotating equipment is necessary.
  • Pump knowledge is preferred.
  • A background check, physical, and drug test are required.
  • An acceptable driving record is required according to company guidelines.
  • The ability to apply force/torque up to 100 ft/lbs is required.
  • The ability to lift and/or move items up to 50 lbs is required.
  • The ability to operate tools at various heights is required.
  • Compliance with OSHA safety and health rules is mandatory.

Working Conditions:

The Pump Repair and Maintenance Mechanic will work in a shop environment, with regular exposure to noise, dust, and other hazards. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines is essential.
