Job Summary

Brandt is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician - Material Handling to join our team at our Milton Construction & Forestry location. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for performing complex diagnostics, service maintenance, and repair work on customer and dealer-owned equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform basic and complex power equipment diagnostics to determine repair needs.
  • Diagnose and repair all related systems, including disassembly, assembly, and repair.
  • Perform customer, manufacturer, or government inspections on equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, including forklifts, stackers, electric carts, electric tow trucks, and transporters.
  • Utilize drill presses, grinders, air compressors, and common hand/power tools to perform preventive maintenance and repairs.
Requirements
  • Outstanding knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic systems, and propane systems.
  • Demonstrated diagnostic skills to understand mechanical and electrical systems of battery and engine-powered material handling equipment.
  • Experience with the use of hand tools and measuring devices, and electrical/electronic diagnostic tools/measurements.
  • Knowledge and experience with industrial equipment, including lifting/rigging, maintaining, dismantling, and installing machinery and industrial mechanical service equipment.
  • Strong time-management skills to perform effectively under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills, showing an appreciation of customer needs.
  • Trade qualification (Heavy Equipment, Agriculture, Automotive, Truck/Transport) considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
  • A commitment to high-quality customer service with a strong people orientation.
