Palliative Care Physician

Job Summary
Mackenzie Health is seeking a skilled Palliative Care Physician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert palliative care to patients in various settings, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, and community settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat patients in a timely manner using appropriate resources.
- Provide palliative care to patients with complex needs, including those with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.
- Participate in call coverage for complex continuing care, rehabilitation, and palliative care across both hospital sites.
- Provide acute inpatient palliative care and consults, as well as family practice consults.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
- Abide by professional staff by-laws and rules of the hospital and the Public Hospital Act.
- Comply with scheduling structures established by the Chief or designate to ensure that hospital and community palliative care services are covered 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Requirements
- Medical degree approved by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) required.
- CCFP, ideally with PC designation; Hospital and Palliative Care training.
- Canadian Medical Protection Association in good standing.
- Ontario Medical Association (OMA).
