We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Analyst to join our team at the Government of Alberta. As a key member of our Program Information, Evaluation and Performance Measurement (PEIPM) Unit, you will play a critical role in managing and analyzing data to support child care initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and analyze data to support child care initiatives, including data collection, data analysis, and interpretation.
  • Develop innovative reporting strategies using statistical best-practices.
  • Work closely with staff and senior leadership to identify and apply statistical best-practices.
  • Promote the use of monitoring and reporting practices and encourage the sharing of analytical information to encourage evidence-informed decision-making.

Requirements:

  • University graduation in a related field (such as, but not limited to Social Sciences, Business, Public Administration, Mathematics, Economics or Statistics) combined with a minimum of four (4) years' progressively related experience.
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and SQL is required.
  • Experience with ARC GIS, Power Query, and Microsoft SSMS is an asset.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, statistical analysis methods, statistical modelling, forecasting, and socio-economic research.
  • Background and training in data science.
