Job Description

This position involves monitoring patients during IV infusion and arranging/prioritizing patient care through observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, counseling, and health teaching. The successful candidate will develop and review individualized nursing care plans, ensuring the emotional, spiritual, physical comfort, and safety of clients/patients are met to the greatest possible extent.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Monitor patients during IV infusion.
  • Arrange and/or provide client/patient care using skills in observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, counseling, and health teaching.
  • Develop and review nursing care plans that are client-centered, goal-oriented, and individualized.
  • Provide care according to established care plans, prioritizing the emotional, spiritual, physical comfort, and safety of clients/patients.
  • Perform routine nursing duties in accordance with company policies and procedures and Standards of Nursing Practice as defined by the provincial regulating body.
  • Receive and transcribe physician's orders.
  • Implement infection prevention and control practices.
  • Maintain current knowledge of best practices, provincial regulatory requirements, and scope of practice for a Registered Nurse.
  • Identify when client care needs exceed the competency of the nurse and escalate accordingly.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) specialty certification an asset.
  • Enthusiasm and love of community care and passion for evidence-informed practice & excellence in care.
  • A current CPR certificate is required.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Updated immunization records, clear criminal background check, and Vulnerable sector check are required upon hire.
