Job Summary

SunSource is seeking a highly skilled Hydraulic Service Technician to join our team. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for providing technical services to our customers, including building, converting, and repairing hydraulic piston pumps and motors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Component Repair and Assembly: Identify components to be repaired by manufacture and part number, inspect parts and various components, and ensure model number is correct.
  • System Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and diagnose mobile and industrial hydraulic systems, identify the reason for failure, and record findings.
  • Quality Control: Assemble units according to manufacturer specifications, test repaired units using manufacturer test specifications, and make necessary adjustments.
  • Shop Maintenance: Maintain a clean shop by sweeping, mopping, organizing, and performing other general duties necessary to keep the shop clean.
  • Team Collaboration: Work efficiently with a team, set a positive example for new technicians, and guide them through repairs and training.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement through training and associate development, stay current on products and technology, and assist in utilizing deadstock inventory during conversions or other opportunities.
Requirements
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience with repairs and assembly of hydraulic components.
  • Skills: Ability to assemble and test power units, repair, convert, and assemble all types of hydraulic components, troubleshoot and diagnose mobile and industrial hydraulic systems, and experience with components from Danfoss, Parker, and Amca.
  • Education: Hydraulic theory and general troubleshooting experience would be preferred.
Training and Development
  • Hydraulics Training: Completion of Hydraulics 100 and 200, Troubleshooting (Outside Service Technician), AMCA Training, Commercial Gear Training, Danfoss Product Training, Hydraulics 101, Vickers Product Specialist Training, Danfoss Product Specialist Training, and Char-Lynn Product Specialist Training.
