Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Dispatch and Communication Specialist to join our team at Joseph Brant Hospital. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for dispatching service calls, communicating with security personnel, and providing top-notch customer service to hospital staff, patients, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispatch all service calls to the appropriate responder(s) as per established procedures.
- Communicate information to Clients and Security team members using telecommunications systems and equipment.
- Provide customer service to Hospital Staff, Security Staff, and General Public.
- Take incoming radio, phone, and in-person calls, document details and escalate to the proper resource.
- Monitor security systems (i.e., CCTV, access control, alarms, etc.) and respond in accordance with established procedures.
- Interact with Police, the Fire Department, and EMS.
- Update and maintain the Security Incident database.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Strong reading, writing, and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with MS Office suite, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
- The ability to type a minimum of 50 WPM with no errors
- Ability to learn and adapt to new software/applications
- A working knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act
- Knowledge of Trespass to Property Act
- Commitment to professionalism and excellence in customer service
- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced and stressful environment
- Ability to process large call volumes and exercise sound and accurate decisions
- Minimum 6 months of experience in Alarm Monitoring, Dispatch, CCTV Monitoring, or Call Centre experience
- Immunization Record (Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and TB skin tests 1 and 2)
- Vulnerable Sector Check
- First Aid CPR C
- High School Diploma/GED
- Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB)
- Proof of immunizations for TB, MMR, Varicella?
- Standard First Aid, CPR Level C
- Use of Force
