Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook menu items to a high standard, following standardized recipes and procedures.
  • Ensure the mise en place of foods, garnishes, sauces, dishes, cutlery, and other products are prepared and presented to a high standard.
  • Clean and maintain kitchen equipment and facilities to a high standard, adhering to health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Receive and store stock, labeling and dating items as required.
  • Assist with month-end inventories and attend culinary meetings as required.
  • Liaise and communicate effectively with all operational departments.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with guests, ownership, and team members.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety regulations, and other statutory requirements.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma; Culinary education an asset.
  • Minimum 2 years of culinary experience an asset.
  • Red Seal certification through ITA or current enrollment in the program an asset.
  • Food Safety Certification.
  • POS and cash handling experience (if necessary).
  • Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective, and service-oriented communication.
Work Environment

This role requires regular kitchen environment exposure, standing and walking for long periods, and major exposure to heat, cold, steam, noise, odors, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stretching, bending, and some exposure to fumes, smoke, chemicals, and risk of minor cuts and burns.
