Your Role:

This position is part of the Recreation Therapy department at Alberta Health Services. As a Therapy Aide, you will work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team to contribute to the effective delivery of rehabilitation services. Your responsibilities may include administrative tasks such as ordering supplies, booking clients, tracking attendance, equipment inventory, and preparing/cleaning the treatment area. Under the direction of a supervising recreation therapist, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, audiologist, or speech language pathologist, you will prepare and/or apply routine interventions, promote patient healthy living, self-care independence, and motivate clients to actively participate in assigned therapy protocols or programs. You may assist with client lifts and transfers, positioning, and basic activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL) within the context of the therapy program.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12.
