Job Summary

As a Packaging Set-up Operator at Bausch & Lomb, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our packaging department. Under the supervision of the Manager, Packaging, you will be responsible for assembling, adjusting, and operating various machines in the department. Your primary goal will be to maintain equipment in optimal operating conditions, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards.

Main Responsibilities
  • Batch Production:
    • Assemble and disassemble equipment according to established procedures and instructions.
    • Complete documentation during production, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Verify that machines are in good working order, making adjustments as necessary to ensure optimal performance.
    • Collaborate with operators and team leaders to meet production schedules and deadlines.
    • Document and report any deviations or issues that may impact production.
    • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize equipment operation and efficiency.
  • Equipment and Materials:
    • Maintain equipment and premises in good working condition, ensuring compliance with GMP and HSE standards.
    • Ensure your workstation is clean and organized, adhering to company standards.
    • Properly use equipment, reporting any issues or concerns to team leaders or managers.
    • Respect production standards, including throughput, productivity, and yield.
    • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks as required.
    • Verify and transmit batch files and packaging documents accurately and efficiently.
  • GMP and HSE:
    • Perform work in accordance with current GMP and HSE standards, policies, and procedures.
    • Apply HSE directives, procedures, and instructions daily.
    • Report any quality or HSE events to your manager, suggesting improvements as necessary.
Requirements
  • Education: DEC in mechanics, electromechanics (an asset), or DEP with relevant experience.
  • Language: French (required), English (an asset).
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in a pharmaceutical industry or related field as an assembly operator.
  • Technical Skills: Mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic knowledge, as well as knowledge of production tools.
