Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team at RS SIDHU TRUCKING LTD. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a dump truck to transport goods and materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
  • Load and unload goods
  • Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
  • Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
  • Perform brake adjustments
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs
  • Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
  • Perform preventive maintenance
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
  • Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo

Requirements:

  • Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi trailer trucks)
  • Valid driver's licence
  • Physically demanding
  • Sitting

Work Environment: The work environment will be dusty, and the work setting will be various locations.
