Job Summary
Bureau Veritas is seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technician to join our Food Chemistry Section. As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for performing food analyses and prep-work on food samples, ensuring accuracy of results and data entry, and identifying and communicating procedural non-conformances to Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform food analyses and prep-work on food samples, adhering to established SOPs and QA/QC protocols.
- Accountable for accuracy of results and data entry, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Recognize routine and non-routine problems and consult with supervisor, confer with supervisor if samples exceed deadlines.
- Handle simple routine problems without supervision, meeting quality and TAT specifications required by the client.
- Identify and communicate procedural non-conformances to Supervisor, employing proper laboratory techniques to minimize risk of mislabelling, sample mix-up and cross contamination between samples and other materials.
Requirements
- Minimum of Chemical Technician Diploma, with two years' experience in Food Testing.
- Adhere to all safety procedures, ability to keep work area organized and clean.
- Good verbal and written skills/communication, dynamic, energetic, motivated, with positive outlook and 'can-do' attitude.
Work Schedule
Shift will be Tuesday to Friday, 12 noon to 8.30 p.m. and Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
