Job Title: Early Childhood Educator

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Kinder Learning Centres. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and engaging environment for young children to learn and grow.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing child-care programs that support the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children. This includes planning and leading activities, supervising staff and trainees, and maintaining a safe and healthy environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • Supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers to ensure a safe and healthy environment
  • Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest
  • Order supplies and equipment to maintain a safe and healthy environment
  • Encourage children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
  • Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts
  • Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors
  • Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings
  • Establish guidelines for behavior and maintain a safe and healthy environment
  • Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
  • Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
  • Plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants
Requirements:
  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate
  • CPR Certificate
  • Experience working with children with special needs, including those who are deaf or hard of hearing, have mental health disabilities, behavioral issues, allergies, asthma, ADHD, or ADD
  • Immunization records, tuberculosis test, and vulnerable sector check
  • Ability to work in a noisy, outdoors environment with a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling, and manual dexterity
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, punctuality, dependability, efficient interpersonal skills, flexibility, interpersonal awareness, judgement, reliability, team player, values and ethics, creativity, and ability to multitask
