Electrical Estimator

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our Pre-Construction team at Houle Electric Limited. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in estimating project costs, assembling quantity take-offs, and developing quotation submissions.
Responsibilities- Estimate project costs and develop quotation submissions for opportunities ranging from $1M to $100M in total value.
- Prepare requests for quotations, obtain competitive pricing from suppliers, and strategize communication with Suppliers and Customers.
- Develop and maintain bid labour & material databases, analyze current practices and pricing, and identify areas for cost saving and process improvement.
- Work with the Chief Estimator to develop project indirect costs and overheads for each estimate.
- Support and mentor junior estimators, and contribute to the development of the team.
- Minimum 4 years of experience estimating electrical work for projects in the following market sectors: Industrial, Commercial, Higher Education, Healthcare, Federal/Provincial/Civic Infrastructure, and Multi-use Residential complexes.
- Relevant Electrical TQ or field experience or, AScT., E.I.T. or P.Eng status.
- Sound knowledge of the electrical sub-trades scope of work and installation methodology.
- Good understanding of electrical drawings and ability to interpret schematics and P&ID's.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both written and oral.
- Superior proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of Accubid and LiveCount estimating Software.
- Experience using BlueBeam, AutoCAD or BIM, an asset.
