Position Overview
Interior Health is seeking a highly skilled Pharmaceutical Expert to join our multidisciplinary team at Penticton Regional Hospital.
This full-time (1.00 FTE) position involves working rotating day shifts and offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in patient care through clinical pharmacy services.
About the Role
The Pharmaceutical Expert will deliver exceptional clinical pharmacy services in acute care and residential care settings, providing personalized treatment assessments and serving as the primary drug information resource.
The role requires meticulous monitoring of drug prescribing, distribution, and therapy to ensure safe, effective, and economical use.
Key responsibilities include overseeing ongoing drug therapy, assessing factors like effectiveness, compliance, adverse reactions, and interactions, and maintaining accurate workload records.
The Pharmaceutical Expert will also interpret medication orders, input them into the database, and dispense prescriptions in adherence to legal, professional, and departmental standards.

Location
Penticton Regional Hospital is an acute care hospital with a medium-sized pharmacy operating seven days a week during daytime hours.

Qualifications
- Current registration as a pharmacist with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia
- Certification of completion of an Accredited Canadian Pharmacy Residency program (ACPR1)
- A combination of at least one year of full-time equivalent recent relevant clinical pharmacy experience and recognized advanced education courses
- Active membership in the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists is encouraged
