Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Intermediate Solid Waste Engineer to join our team at Trace Associates Inc. as a key member of our engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Project Managers with planning and implementing detailed design and permitting projects, including budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, ensuring quality of services and client satisfaction, and project profitability.
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of projects.
  • Prepare for and participate in meetings with clients, legal counsel, regulatory agency personnel, and other parties to discuss project progress and address any concerns.
  • Perform out-of-town travel and fieldwork, including collection of samples, site visits, drilling, and remedial contractor oversight and/or construction oversight.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of current solid waste regulations in British Columbia and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and Civil 3D software packages to design and develop engineering projects.
  • Apply knowledge of grading, site layout, site servicing, stormwater management, hydrogeology, contaminant migration, environmental site assessment, and risk assessments to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  • Prepare and submit high-quality reports and presentations to clients and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and deadlines to ensure timely completion.

Requirements:

  • Four years plus of experience in consulting engineering, preferably in the field of solid waste management.
  • Knowledge of current solid waste regulations in British Columbia.
  • Proficient knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D software packages.
  • Excellent communication and project coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
