\Job Description:
\We are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to integrate with our existing procurement team. The successful candidate will provide timely and cost-effective procurement services, including value-added sourcing and ordering of parts, materials, equipment, and services.
\Responsibilities:
\- \
- Sourcing parts, materials, equipment, and services from established vendors and new suppliers as required\
- Implementing and executing commodity strategies to support cost, quality, supplier reduction, and delivery sourcing goals\
- Reviewing internal requests, preparing and releasing requests for quote (RFQ), and negotiating pricing with suppliers\
- Creating purchase orders from approved suppliers in accordance with Standard Plant Procedures (SPP's) and Administrative Directives (AD's)\
- Managing purchase orders in the MRP system (JD Edwards) and updating promised delivery dates and purchase order notes\
- Developing supplier relationships to ensure all parts and materials meet internal and external customer requirements\
- Actioning discrepant, defective, or unacceptable products/services with Receiving Inspection, Receiving, and Quality Assurance departments, end users, vendors, and others to determine the source and root cause of the problem and take necessary corrective/preventative actions\
- Actioning invoice discrepancies accurately and in a timely manner\
- Interface with key stakeholders to obtain and provide information, including procurement technical advice in support of overall operations\
- Recommending and implementing cost reduction initiatives\
- Working within and promoting Lean practices to meet departmental and divisional goals\
- Meeting industry representatives on behalf of the company\
- Carrying out special assignments as required\
Required Skills and Qualifications:
\We are looking for a candidate with post-secondary education and 1-3 years of experience in supply chain, preferably in the aerospace and/or aviation industries. A background in purchasing or a similar field is also desirable. Intermediate to advanced computer skills, particularly in MS Office and MRP/ERP systems, are essential.
