This role involves implementing hedging strategies under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) to ensure the bank qualifies eligible derivatives for hedge accounting treatment.

The successful candidate will have solid knowledge of finance and financial products, including various derivatives, and experience with systems such as Peak or system trading system, PeopleSoft EGL, OBI, Excel, and PowerPoint.

About the Job
  • Collaborate daily with front office and other business lines on hedging requests, reviewing eligibility, identifying associated strategies, and completing required documentation.
  • Ongoing monitoring of hedging relationships to ensure they continue to meet requirements for hedge qualification and have high effectiveness.
  • Manage tight month end close by reconciling, analyzing, and communicating hedge accounting results for various hedging units to Group Treasury and other business partners.
About You
  • You'll need self-driven analytical and collaborative skills, problem-solving, time-management, and communication skills.
  • A post-secondary degree in Finance/Accounting/business with a minimum of 4 years industry experience is required. An accounting designation (CPA) or working towards designation is an asset.
