Job Description

The pharmacy technician role involves supporting the pharmacy team in producing prescriptions and delivering exceptional customer service. This includes participating actively in growing prescription and over-the-counter sales.

  • Receiving customer prescriptions, collecting necessary information, and ensuring completeness of information.
  • Maintaining patient and drug information files.
  • Checking pharmaceutical products prepared by another regulated pharmacy technician or unregulated pharmacy personnel.
  • Confirming accuracy and completeness of pharmaceutical products prepared for release.
  • Preparing prescription labels, affixing prescription and auxiliary labels to prescription containers.
  • Reconciling accounts and collecting outstanding monies from patients where necessary.
  • Retrieving, counting, pouring, weighing, measuring, mixing, and reconstituting medications.
  • Pricing prescriptions, preparing receipts, invoices, letters, memos, and general filing.
  • Stocking medications and related supplies, rotating, and monitoring stock.
  • Maintaining a perpetual inventory system in Kroll.
  • Maintaining customer privacy and confidentiality.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A registered pharmacy technician certification and maintained registration with the appropriate pharmacy association.
  • A high level of professionalism.
  • Knowledge of professional discipline, technical specialties, and related processes.
  • The ability to implement practical procedures of systems that are moderately complex.
  • Leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to handle cash accurately.
  • Experience with Kroll is an asset.
  • Respect for the confidential and individual rights of our customers.
  • The ability to effectively communicate one-on-one and over the telephone with coworkers, supervisors, suppliers, physicians, and customers.
