Job Summary

Bouchier is seeking a skilled Journeyman Plumber to support our camp dorm renovation project. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing piping systems and ensuring compliance with plumbing codes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine piping layouts.
  • Install underground polyethylene pipe, above ground carbon steel pipe, fittings, pressure gauges, PCV's, PSV's, and pipe supports.
  • Keep up-to-date with current safety regulations, requirements, and training for NG systems.
  • Locate and mark positions for pipe connections and passage holes in walls.
  • Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings.
  • Measure and cut pipes using hand and power tools.
  • Thread pipe.
  • Join pipes using couplings (mechanical).
  • Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges.
  • Prepare cost estimates and receive and complete work orders.
Requirements
  • Red Seal or Alberta certified Journeyman Plumber certificate is required.
  • Journeyman Gas Fitter Class A or B is an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License is required.
  • CSTS and OSSA Regional Orientation or OSSA BSO (Basic Safety Orientation before December 31, 2018) or CSO (Common Safety Orientation after January 1, 2019) certification.
  • Proficiency in threading techniques.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Service plumbing experience is considered an asset.
  • Experience with DR11 Poly gas line.
  • Minimum three years of experience in an oilfield industrial environment.
  • High School Diploma preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of plumbing system installation and repairs.
  • Strong mathematical, scientific, mechanical, and logical reasoning abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a work team.
  • Safety conscious attitude.
  • Previous Renovation Experience is considered an asset.
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive Drug, Alcohol, and Physical Demand Assessment.
  • Fluent in spoken, written, and reading English.
  • All applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
