Bridge Design Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Bridge Design Specialist to join our team at COWI. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and evaluating bridges, working closely with clients and colleagues to deliver high-quality solutions.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Performing structural analysis and design, and preparing calculations, drawings, work plans, schedules, and budgets
  • Preparing technical specifications, engineering reports, and other technical documents
  • Liaising with other professionals, clients, and third parties as needed
  • Coordinating with CAD and BIM modellers to bring our clients' vision to reality
  • Conducting site visits and inspections in the lower mainland

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or higher, with a minimum of 4 years of related experience in bridge design. You will also need to be a registered Professional Engineer in your home province or state, or be able to obtain registration in Nova Scotia within 12 months of employment. Familiarity with structural design codes such as CSA:S6 and/or AASHTO, as well as experience with structural analysis software programs, is also essential.
