Job Title: Logistics Operations Specialist

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Operations Specialist to join our team at Dream Logistics Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our logistics operations, from coordinating shipments to managing inventory.

About the Role:
  • This is a permanent position with an estimated salary of $65,000 - $80,000 per year, based on location and experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in logistics or a related field.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Compile orders and instructions received from customers.
  2. Organize tasks to accomplish work efficiently.
  3. Plan and organize operational logistics of the organization.
  4. Track and complete work orders.
  5. Co-ordinate activities with other work units or departments.
  6. Prepare and submit reports.
  7. Arrange for maintenance and repair work.
  8. Ensure proper functioning of equipment.
  9. Maintain work records and logs.
  10. Organize warehouse and work areas.
  11. Resolve work problems, provide technical advice, and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
  12. Co-ordinate traffic flow of supplies.
  13. Compile worksheets and specifications of orders.
  14. Consult with production supervisor to schedule production runs in a cost and time-efficient manner.
  15. Monitor production progress.
  16. Project management.
  17. Train workers in duties and policies.
  18. Conduct performance reviews.
  19. Co-ordinate, assign, and review work.
  20. Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies.
  21. Assist with maintenance of communications equipment.
  22. Dispatch personnel according to schedules and work orders.
  23. Dispatch personnel as required by emergency situations.
  24. Follow-up on issues with work orders.
  25. Keep track of shipments.
  26. Knowledge of cross-border dispatching regulations and practices.
  27. Knowledge of highway trucking and associated rules and regulations.
  28. Maintain vehicle operator work records.
  29. Record mileage, fuel use, repairs, and other expenses.
  30. Respond to urgent calls from individuals who find themselves in life-threatening situations and require assistance.
  31. Schedule assignments and co-ordinate activities of vehicle operators, crews, and equipment.
  32. Organize and maintain inventory.
  33. Contact customers to deliver requested wake-up calls.
  34. Plan, organize, and oversee operational logistics of the organization.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience with dispatch management service software and monitoring/tracking software.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college diploma or degree preferred.
