Job Title: Personal Attendant, Westwood Hub

Job Summary:

Thrive Group Canada is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Personal Attendant to join our team at the Westwood Hub. As a Personal Attendant, you will provide non-medical personal support services, life-skills support, and light housekeeping duties to enable clients to remain in their own homes and live as independently as possible.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Arrange and escort clients to appointments, including medical appointments and social activities
  • Provide light housekeeping services, including cleaning and laundry
  • Support clients with life-skills, including meal preparation and medication management
  • Communicate effectively with clients, family members, and healthcare professionals
  • Maintain accurate records and reports as required

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma and experience in the provision of personal support services to people with disabilities and/or seniors
  • Additional certification in personal support care, first aid, health care, or other related qualification preferred
  • Ability to empathize with people with physical and emotional needs
  • Knowledge of basic math and ability to do calculations and quantity measurements
  • Ability to plan and organize work and perform tasks according to priority
  • Ability to make solid decisions and problem-solve effectively
  • Good oral and written communication skills, with a competent level of English
  • Able to communicate in other languages is an asset
  • Must demonstrate high commitment to providing exceptional customer service and be reliable, punctual, and capable of managing time effectively
  • Ability to develop supportive relationships and work collaboratively with clients, family members, colleagues, volunteers, and community partners
  • Must be able to take direction and work independently as well as part of a team
  • A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check or Criminal Reference Check is required
