Job Summary

Porter Airlines is seeking a skilled Aircraft Engineer to join our team. As a licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing aircraft systems, as well as performing routine maintenance tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair aircraft structural, mechanical, or hydraulic systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspections and repairs.
  • Install or modify aircraft engines, mechanical, hydraulic, flight control, fuel, and pneumatic systems.
  • Dismantle and reassemble airframes, aircraft engines, or other aircraft systems for repair, overhaul, and cleaning.
  • Document scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks.
  • Order and maintain inventory of parts and supplies.
  • Maintain ground support equipment (GSE).
  • Participate in Porter's Safety Management System (SMS) by reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations.
  • Ensure company offices and vehicles are kept organized and in working order.
  • Carry out tasks assigned by Maintenance Operations Control.
  • Assist on the ramp as required.

Qualifications
  • Possession of a Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License (M2 rating) required.
  • Proven technical aptitude with at least 2 years' experience and/or endorsed on DASH 8– 400 and/or Embraer Regional Jets and/or equivalent type of aircraft preferred.
  • Experience working on a wide range of airframe systems such as electrical, navigation, flight controls, and turbine engines.
  • Ability to frequently climb, kneel, and crawl into tight spaces.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to obtain necessary Transport Canada security clearances and driver's airside license within 6 months from date of hire.
  • Full unrestricted driver's license with a clean abstract required.
  • Successfully complete the company background and pre-employment screening tests.
  • Flexibility to work shifts and overtime.
