Technical Project Manager

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Technical Project Manager to join our team at CityZen. The ideal candidate will have a technical background, excellent project management skills, and a deep understanding of software development processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate agile/scrum methodologies, including grooming, stand-ups, team demos, coordination meetings, and retrospectives.
  • Own technical project scoping, from requirements gathering to status reporting.
  • Author and maintain product behavior guides and other project/technical documentation.
  • Ensure product requirements are translated from initiatives to maintainable software behaviors for implementation.
  • Generate reports for sprint metrics and roadmap status updates.
  • Utilize data-driven approaches, with hands-on experience in writing and optimizing SQL queries for analyzing and validating data.
  • Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Act as the point of contact for cross-functional initiatives, ensuring dependency tracking and project alignment between developers, product managers, and data engineers.
Requirements
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational tendencies, and analytical thinking.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with software development or data engineering (Python, React, JS, Go, or others).
  • 1+ years of experience in Technical Project Management or a related field.
  • A proactive and 'progressive agilist' who advocates for team members and customers alike.
  • Process-oriented, with a strong understanding of agile methodologies and software development life cycles.
  • Proficiency with project management tools and processes (Jira, Confluence, Excel/Sheets, Miro, Lucid, etc).
Bonus Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in a scale-up environment or fast-paced tech environment.
  • Experience with cloud technologies and modern web development practices.
  • A passion for technology and process, and an eagerness to contribute to a team-oriented environment.
  • PMP, Agile, or Scrum certification.
