Yard Forklift Operator

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Yard Forklift Operator to join our team in our Distribution Centre pipe yard located in Etobicoke, ON. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately and quickly servicing a demanding client base while maintaining the highest quality and safety standards in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Picking, transferring, and shipping orders in a timely and accurate manner
  • Working proficiently against productivity and quality targets
  • Reporting safety and security issues to direct supervisors
  • Accurately selecting and setting up orders for shipment
  • Performing daily pre-inspections of order pickers and reach trucks
  • Driving order pickers and reach trucks between racks and replenishing orders from warehouse racking
  • Correctly building products onto pallets and preparing them for shipment
  • Maintaining a strict housekeeping standard

Requirements:

  • Completion of high school or college diploma or equivalent work experience in distribution and/or logistics
  • Experience operating various forklift/order picker equipment
  • Possession of a valid forklift certification
  • Successful candidate must complete a criminal background check
  • Experience handling large materials preferred
  • Ability to lift 30+ pounds repeatedly
  • Knowledge of RF picking and loading processes is an asset

Working Conditions:

Incumbent spends 100% of their time in our outdoor yard environment. Lifting, pulling, and pushing heavy objects (25-50lbs). Personal safety is affected by dust and traffic caused by other forklift operators. Moderate amount of sensory attention is required. Limited control of work pace and unexpected workflow brings considerable stresses to this position.
