Job Title: Security Supervisor

Job Summary:

The Security Supervisor will provide a variety of services, implementing the security objectives of the Law Society of Ontario according to policies and procedures. The successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision and administration of on-site guards, providing ongoing support to staff on security-related issues, and responding to calls for service and security-related incidents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervision and Administration: Supervise and administer on-site guards, ensuring they are performing their duties in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Security Support: Provide ongoing support to staff on security-related issues, including responding to calls for service and security-related incidents.
  • Incident Response: Respond to calls for service and security-related incidents, and conduct other operational duties as assigned.
  • Performance Management: Set individual and team objectives within the Security Department and ensure these are achieved to a high and consistent standard.
  • Training and Development: Test guard staff on a quarterly basis, provide training as required, and ensure training checklists are completed and submitted to management.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain, organize, and file all staff training records, application records, disciplinary records, and security license records.
  • Communication: Inform management of all issues that may have an impact on the security services or staff performance.
  • Reporting: Review all logs and guard tour patrol reports on a daily basis and provide a summary of patrol proficiency to management as required.
  • Auditing: Conduct and/or prepare frequent audits of equipment, including radios, keys, guard tour devices, CCTV, storage, and computer systems.
  • Incident Reporting: Ensure all staff complete detailed and accurate incident reports before the end of their shift and within a reasonable time frame.
  • Customer Service: Provide a high level of customer service to staff, visitors, and contractors.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as required/requested by the company and management.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in the security industry or equivalent.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Valid Ontario Security Guard License, Standard First Aid and CPR Level – C from a WSIB-approved provider, and proof of Covid-19 Double Vaccination (2 Doses Minimum).
  • Skills: Proficient in English (both oral and written), ability to think quickly on your feet, and defuse difficult situations.
