Maintenance Planning Specialist

The Maintenance Planner/Specialist plays a critical role in the coordination of all activities within the Preventative and Planned Maintenance Program. This position is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and track outstanding work in the system for their area.
- Review and maintain equipment information in the SAP Hierarchy.
- Add spare part SAP# numbers to the BOM for each equipment as they are entered into SAP.
- Provide reports on KPIs as they are developed.
- Have a good understanding of SAP and its relationship to CMMS.
- Facilitate the Daily Validation meeting to convert notifications to Work Orders.
- Ensure all PMs and Work Orders are planned and scheduled to meet completion deadlines.
- Distribute Work Orders to Millwrights and Electricians.
- Develop a comprehensive 2-week frozen schedule in conjunction with the Production Schedule.
- Develop a fluid 6-week schedule.
- Track PM completion and create a weekly PM compliance report.
- Review changes to PMs requested by the trades with the Maintenance Supervisor and document changes.
- Create work orders and track to completion with weekly updated reports.
- Ensure minimal overdue work orders (PMs and MRs) and report on any seriously overdue Work Orders.
- Maintain calibration records and ensure they are up-to-date.
- Participate in Zone audits.
- Work with the Maintenance Supervisor to understand the requirements of a work order that requires a contractor's support.
- Contact, arrange, and schedule contractors to come on site based on the production schedule.
- Work with the Maintenance Supervisor to schedule planned maintenance activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in a technical field or trade certification as Millwright or Electrician is preferred.
- Good experience with SAP software – minimum of 2 years.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in combination with trade and Maintenance Planning is required.
- Good knowledge of CMMS is strongly preferred.
- Post-secondary education or training in Planning/Scheduling or related field is preferred.
- A high sense of accountability, self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
