Critical Care Nurse

We are seeking experienced Critical Care Registered Nurses to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. As a Critical Care Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care in our Intensive Care Units (ICU) and Intermediate Intensive Care Units (IMCU). You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide evidence-based care to critically ill patients.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients in the ICU and IMCU
- Assess and evaluate patient conditions, identifying and responding to changes in patient status
- Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless care transitions and effective communication
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and care processes
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- One (1) year full-time Critical Care experience required
- Completion of an approved Critical Care Course/Critical Care Certificate/CCNP and/or one year of experience in critical care required for ICU/IMCU positions
- Three to five years of acute care nursing experience preferred
- Specific experience in a specialty area may be required (e.g.: Cardiovascular, Med/Surg Neuro)
- BLS (HCP) certification required

Various permanent, assignments (temporary), and casual relief (no guarantee of hours) are available in various locations throughout Nova Scotia. Shifts may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
