Senior Power System Engineer

At FNX-INNOV, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Power System Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team. As a key member of our Energy team, you will be responsible for conducting power system simulations, validating generator application documentation, and completing station and distribution system modeling.

Your Responsibilities
  • Conduct power system simulations using CYMDIST software to analyze power flows, voltage stability, transient stability, fault contribution, and protection coordination.
  • Validate generator application documentation and determine the impact of renewable generation under various loading conditions.
  • Complete station and distribution system modeling, including translating system information into associated software.
  • Prepare estimates, implementation schedules, and review and certify Form B.
  • Provide final reports summarizing project timelines, ensuring power quality, system adequacy, system reliability, and system compatibility.
  • Perform grounding studies and prepare related reports, including protection coordination studies, short circuit calculations, relay settings, and AC/DC load studies.
  • Complete protection and control design on operating ranges for generators, network upgrade requirements, and protection upgrades.
  • Perform quality assurance checks on engineering packages and documents.
  • Support the preparation of estimates and proposals for bids prepared by the Energy department.
  • Offer customer support and problem resolution for associated projects, products, processes, and quality systems.
Your Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of relevant distribution planning and analysis experience.
  • Experience with generator connection impact assessment and power system load flow, load allocation, fault analysis, short circuit studies, and voltage sag.
  • Experience with distribution planning, distributed energy resource interconnection impact, arc flash, microgrid analysis, and protection coordination.
  • Experience with ETAP, PSS/E, EMTP, ASPEN OneLiner, Siemens CAPE, or PSCAD software.
  • Strong written, interpersonal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) license is highly preferred.
