About the Role:
The Saskatchewan Cancer Agency is seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team. As a Radiation Therapist, you will be responsible for delivering radiation therapy to patients with cancer. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver radiation therapy to patients with cancer, following established treatment plans and protocols.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and radiation oncologists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Conduct patient assessments and develop treatment plans, taking into account individual patient needs and circumstances.
- Operate and maintain radiation therapy equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with best practices and advancements in radiation therapy.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in radiation therapy or a related field.
- Current certification from the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
- Provincial or territorial certification as a radiation therapist.
- 1-7 months of experience in radiation therapy, preferably in a hospital or cancer treatment setting.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
