Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team at ROUTE KING TRANSPORT LTD. as a key member of our maintenance department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and inspect heavy equipment to detect faults and malfunctions, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.
  • Adjust and repair or replace defective parts, components, and systems of heavy equipment, including commercial transport trucks and truck-trailer systems.
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other maintenance work to ensure the longevity and efficiency of our equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspections, repairs, and replacements, to prevent downtime and ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist mechanics and perform other duties as directed by supervisors or team leaders.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment, requiring attention to detail and manual dexterity.
  • Stand for extended periods, bend, crouch, and kneel to perform maintenance tasks.
  • Use hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills to operate equipment and tools.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance or a related field.
  • Permanent employment with a competitive salary and benefits package.
  • English language proficiency, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
  • 40 hours per week, with opportunities for overtime and professional development.
