Job Title: Tile Setter

We are seeking a skilled Tile Setter to join our team at Ontario Inc.

Job Summary:

The Tile Setter will be responsible for preparing, measuring, and marking surfaces to be covered with tiles. This includes mixing, applying, and spreading mortar, cement, mastic, glue, or other adhesives using a hand trowel. The successful candidate will also prepare rough plans and sketches, set tiles in place, and apply pressure to affix them to the base. Additionally, the Tile Setter will align and straighten tiles, cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools, and remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare surfaces to be covered with tiles
  • Mix and apply adhesives
  • Set tiles in place and apply pressure
  • Align and straighten tiles
  • Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings
  • Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles
  • Estimate costs and materials
  • Mix, lay, and polish terra surfaces
  • Install tile strips
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience
  • Permanent employment
  • English language proficiency
  • 30 to 40 hours per week
