About the Role

Black & McDonald Limited is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join our team in the Atlantic Region. As a key member of our Utility Department, you will be responsible for leading projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Estimating and Bidding: Prepare estimates of materials, labor, and equipment based on contract bids, quotations, schematic drawings, and specifications.
  • Tendering and Contract Management: Prepare proposal documents, adhere to tendering procedures, examine and analyze tenders, and maintain tendering processes.
  • Cost Monitoring and Reporting: Understand cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures, and maintain accurate records of project costs.
  • Client Relationships: Establish and maintain excellent relationships with clients, consultants, trades, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and the community.
  • Scheduling and Planning: Plan, prepare, monitor, and manage construction schedules and milestones.
  • Quality and Safety: Ensure work is performed in compliance with applicable standards, including HSE regulations, company policies, and contract requirements.
  • Reporting and Forecasting: Monitor and report on project progress, labor productivity, work outcomes, budget, cost, and forecast.
Requirements
  • Education: Degree or Diploma in Project Management, Construction Engineering Technology, Journeyperson Electrician, Power Line Technician, Construction Management, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in the Electrical or PLT or Civil Industry.
  • Skills: Construction scheduling, planning, and execution, tendering procedures, cost monitoring and reporting systems, business operations processes, organization and time management, liaison and communication with engineers, suppliers, owners, contractors, and subcontractors.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Intermediate User: MS Office (Word, Excel, Project), JD Edwards or an Oracle-based ERP system, Accubid estimating software, Procore PM software.
