We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced procurement professional to join our team as a Strategic Procurement Lead. As a key member of our Finance and Administration department, you will play a critical role in shaping our university's procurement strategy and ensuring the effective management of our supply chain.

The Opportunity

The Strategic Procurement Lead will be responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction to our procurement team, developing and implementing procurement strategies that align with the university's financial and strategic business objectives. You will work closely with stakeholders across the university to understand their procurement needs and develop solutions that meet their requirements.

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the university's financial and strategic business objectives.
  • Lead the procurement team in the development and implementation of procurement plans, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to stakeholders on procurement-related matters.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure the effective management of our supply chain.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A post-secondary degree in a related field, such as business, finance, or supply chain management.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior procurement or supply chain role, preferably in a post-secondary institution or public sector organization.
  • Experience interpreting and applying governmental guidelines and project management principles.
  • Strong knowledge of purchasing and accounts payable principles, practices, and processes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with varying degrees of complexities and priorities.
  • Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to communicate with all management levels, including clients and suppliers.
