**Job Summary**

Mainline Construction is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Grading Foreman to join our team. As a Grading Foreman, you will be responsible for supervising a crew of workers and equipment to complete grading projects on time and within budget.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Supervise and coordinate the work of a crew of workers and equipment to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Conduct daily safety inspections and maintain accurate records of safety incidents and near misses.
  • Verify the accuracy of bills of lading and notify supervisors of any discrepancies.
  • Ensure that all materials required for projects are available and that work is carried out in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Develop and maintain good employee relations and ensure that all training requirements are met.
  • Review and complete all required documentation, including daily timesheets, tailgate meetings, and incident reporting.

**Leadership and Quality**

  • Encourage a culture of high-quality work and lead by example.
  • Understand and apply company performance standards (QA/QC) requirements for all maintenance activities.

**Performance Management**

  • Ensure that all team members are aware of their duties and responsibilities.
  • Hold team members accountable for their results through ongoing performance management, including providing feedback, recognition, and opportunities for development and cross-training.

**Job Management**

  • Monitor weather conditions and adjust schedules as necessary to avoid delays.
  • Direct the mobilization and demobilization of crews and equipment.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures.

**Requirements**

  • High school education or equivalent experience.
  • Valid Class 5 AB driver's license with a clean abstract.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Workers Compensation Board (WCB) Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Ability to work away from home for extended periods, although this may not be a constant requirement.
  • Proficiency in computer skills is considered an asset.
