We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Tour Guide to join our team at Rocky Mountain Scenic Tours Ltd. As a Tour Guide, you will be responsible for leading groups of tourists through scenic routes, providing information about the local culture, history, and attractions.
Key Responsibilities:- Drive sightseeing or tour vehicle to transport tourists to various destinations
- Confirm transportation and accommodation reservations to ensure a smooth experience for our guests
- Collect administration or entrance fees as required
- Co-ordinate recreation activities and provide information about local attractions
- Describe points of interest, answer questions, and supply information to tourists
- Resolve itinerary and other problems that may arise during the tour
- Ensure and monitor luggage transfers to ensure our guests' belongings are safe and secure
- Assist clients with check-in procedures for accommodation and/or transportation
- Utilize microphones or other communication devices to provide directions and other pertinent information to visitors
- Co-ordinate activities with local tour guides or leaders of performance groups
- Provide information on tipping customs, currency exchange rates, metric conversion, and other details to our guests
- Assist clients/guests with special needs and ensure their comfort and safety throughout the tour
- Conduct guided tours of museums, gallery exhibitions, and historical, heritage, and other sites, answer inquiries, and provide information
- Transport or escort individuals or groups on tours of cities, waterways, and industrial and other establishments
- 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field
- Excellent oral communication skills and ability to work under pressure
- Dependability, reliability, and ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods
- Supports social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees
- Supports newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition
- Offers on-the-job training tailored to youth
