Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Technology Specialist - Core Systems Developer to join our team at Equitable Life of Canada. As a key member of our IT Savings & Retirement department, you will play a critical role in designing and enhancing a wide range of solutions using various technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a team of developers to design and implement system designs based on long-term IT organization strategy.
- Work closely with business and systems analysts, and QA to develop alternative solutions to meet business needs.
- Analyze production system problems and recommend solutions.
- Investigate and solve production problems with minimal guidance.
- Research and recommend technologies to the team and management to help keep our tech stack up-to-date.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in C#.Net (VB.Net acceptable) with at least 1-2 years of relevant experience.
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Transact SQL with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with SOAP and/or RESTful services.
- High motivation to be a team player and ability to be a strong individual contributor.
- Effective verbal and written communications, with an ability to effectively convey information, concepts, and ideas to others.
- Hands-on experience using testing frameworks (i.e. NUnit, etc.) is an asset.
- Experience with ORMs like Entity Framework is an asset.
- Degree or diploma in Computer Science or a related field.
- Nice to haves: Azure DevOps, Azure Functions, Azure SQL, React, Unitrax, ExStream, Active Batch, Ingenium.
