Job Description

Veolia is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to join our team in Winnipeg. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for providing technical and project management support through contract development, design construction, and commissioning of major capital projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical and project management support to the Veolia Winnipeg Team.
  • Assist the Program Team in the leadership and delivery of various Major Capital Projects for the Winnipeg Sewage Treatment Program (WSTP).
  • Support Veolia's role in the Capital Program Delivery for the WSTP.
  • Provide support to the City Project Managers within the Winnipeg Sewage Treatment Program (WSTP).
  • Audit, assess, evaluate, and provide recommendations to the Winnipeg Sewage Treatment Program Team.
  • Assist the WSTP with operational change management.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide input to the Program Team during all phases of the project.
  • Liaison with multiple working groups and external stakeholders to promote collaboration and progress on the Projects.
  • Review of Contract Change Orders, RFIs, NCRs, etc. to provide input and mitigate risks during construction.
  • Participate/Manage the monitoring and review of project risk processes to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Development of capital target costs and cost control monitoring during execution of major construction contracts.
  • Ensure that a strong safety culture is adopted by all parties on the project and report any safety concerns to the Safety Officer and management staff.
  • Manage and communicate all daily site issues with the relevant stakeholder and ensure resolution is achieved.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience with 5 years' experience directly related to Project or Program Management.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desired, or commit to acquiring the designation within two years.
  • Capable to play a central role in coordinating and integrating progress across internal and external program team members.
  • Process improvement and re-engineering, balancing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ability to conduct analyses on complex data sets and review large complex technical reports.
  • Ability to pay close attention to details, and present good planning, organization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle diverse tasks simultaneously and be able to work effectively with interruptions.
  • Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information or issues.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities.
  • Ability to adapt communication style for diverse audiences from construction site/plant floor to senior management.
  • Ability to guide others and deliver through other people/groups without direct management control.
  • Strong partnering abilities to develop networks and build alliances; collaborate across boundaries to build strategic relationships and achieve common goals.
  • Previous experience with engineering or construction project management processes including good knowledge of Design Build processes from development, procurement, design, construction, and through commissioning of a complex facility.
  • Previous experience with Project Management and business process quality control.
  • Good understanding of progress monitoring and controlling in project management framework.
  • PC skills with expert working knowledge of MS Excel and Share-Point.
  • Working knowledge of ACONEX considered an asset.
  • Experience working in the Google Suite of office tools would be considered an asset.
