About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and certified Pulmonary Function Technologist to join our team at MyHealth Centre. As a key member of our diagnostic team, you will be responsible for performing pulmonary function tests, lung capacity, diffusion capacity, and blood-and-oxygen tests to gather data for use by physicians in diagnosing and treating pulmonary disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform pulmonary function tests, lung capacity, diffusion capacity, and blood-and-oxygen tests to gather data for use by physicians.
  • Confer with patients in the treatment room to explain test procedures and ensure patient identification, safety, and preparation are correct prior to a scan.
  • Measure expired air using various analyzers and observe and record readings on metering devices of analysis equipment.
  • Convey findings of tests and analyses to physicians for interpretation and ensure all quality control assessments are performed as required.
  • Ensure equipment and instruments are performing in an efficient and effective manner and prepare and organize reports as required.
Requirements
  • 0-2 years of related experience.
  • Current CPR certificate.
  • Vmax system experience is an asset.
  • An associate degree in respiratory therapy from an accredited program.
  • PFT testing experience in a body box setting would be an asset.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and training.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
