We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Analyst 2 to join our team at FortisBC. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for providing technical support to our end users, ensuring the smooth operation of our computer systems and networks.
Key Responsibilities- Provide frontline and advanced technical support to our end users, including desktop computing, mobile computing, communications, and network infrastructure.
- Administer and complete advanced technology requests, including software and hardware upgrades, installations, and preventive maintenance tasks.
- Perform departmental deskside/helpdesk functions, including problem receiving, recording, and tracking.
- Administer departmental software and hardware inventory records, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
- Research and implement advanced end-user solutions for hardware and software, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
- Administer software licensing, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Provide advanced support for mobile and smart devices, including troubleshooting and repair.
- Assist senior staff on various projects, including software development, network infrastructure, and system administration.
- Create device images and software packages for deployment, ensuring seamless integration with our existing systems.
- Set up and deliver PC equipment, recycle excess surplus equipment, and process quotes and procure necessary hardware and software.
- Track work performed in problem management systems, prepare progress reports, and administer and maintain corporate workstation assets.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of company computer systems, including current operating systems, imaging processes, software deployment, and server environments.
- Administer multiple resources, task breakdown, and delegation, setting milestones and estimating/ executing tasks required for minor or intermediate projects.
- Provide intermediate support to the Technical Analyst 1, ensuring seamless handover of tasks and responsibilities.
- 2-year Diploma in Computer or Electronics Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- 4 years' experience in related work experience, with a strong understanding of current operating systems, imaging processes, software deployment, and server environments.
- Competence in executing small projects, with a focus on technical support and system administration.
- Related work experience and a strong understanding of:
- Current operating systems applicable to the job.
- Imaging processes in a corporate environment.
- Software deployment in a corporate environment.
- Working knowledge of the server environment.
- Maintaining business contacts with suppliers, service reps, and other businesses.
- Windows Server-based network environment, including user maintenance, scheduling, printer configuration, remote connectivity, etc.
- Microsoft Office applications, collaboration, and communication systems.
- Advanced working knowledge of all peripherals and network-attached devices, including printers, scanners, plotters, cameras, mobile, and smart devices.
- Valid Class 5 British Columbia Driver's license.
