Job Title: Educational Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Educational Assistant to join our team at Dorothy Dalgliesh School. As an Educational Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with their academic and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide educational instruction and support to students, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist students with accessing technology and other educational resources.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Program Plans (IPPs) for students.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure a cohesive and effective learning environment.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to keep them informed of their child's progress.
  • Provide personal care and support to students, including toileting, diapering, feeding, dressing, and grooming.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students, including maintaining close supervision and responding to emergencies.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a recognized post-secondary certificate or vocational certificate in child care/development or behaviour management.
  • Experience working in an inclusive learning environment, preferably with students with diverse needs.
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR certificates.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work collaboratively as part of a team.
